Penn State University Worthington/Scranton Campus

Penn State University Worthington/Scranton Campus

In 2013, D’Huy Engineering, Inc. was hired by Penn State University (PSU) to design an athletic facilities campus at the Penn State Worthington Scranton campus. D’Huy worked closely with both local and main campus officials to develop a plan that best met the needs of Penn State.

The project transformed a dilapidated baseball field into a state of the art diamond while carving out a new softball field in the adjacent open field. Included in the project was the installation of new fencing, backstops, a netting system between fields, new dugouts, and a central plaza with bleachers to serve both fields. A field house with concessions, toilet rooms and storage is located just off the plaza behind home plate. On the opposite side of the complex, but still accessible by a newly installed walkway, a third soccer field was renovated to include bleachers. A new driveway from the existing upper campus was constructed down the hillside to a new parking area.
