Penn State University - Berks County Campus

D’Huy Engineering, Inc. was initially hired by Penn State University’s Berks Campus in 2008 to complete a feasibility study for the design of an athletic facilities campus, and then in Fall 2012, a study for the campus’ synthetic turf field and athletic complex. After working with the University to develop a program and budget for this study, we were solicited in 2013 to complete the design, obtain government approvals, aid in the bidding process, and provide construction administration services for the field and athletic complex. D’Huy’s services helped provide a new lighted synthetic turf field for students to play soccer, rugby and intramural sports. The field is surrounded by a low fence and walking track, and is served by 365 seat bleachers built into an existing bank located off a main walkway through campus. The new facility, besides hosting school events, has become a focal point and gathering place for the campus community.
